How to maximize your use of Citibank's Cashback Card

First of all, this is for the Citibank Cashback card issued in the Philippines.

I love this card because you can get a maximum rebate of Php 1,000 per month. You can also do this with careful planning.

The cashback card is great only if you happen to be spending enough to get the rebate but if not, I suggest that you pick another card. The only reason I am even using this card is for purchasing things that my parents' needs.

So how does this actually work?
According to their terms....

So, that's the deal breaker. You can only get a whopping 6% rebate on groceries if you can find a way to charge 10k of purchases to your credit card.

How do I do it?
I charge the following

-cellphone bills
-medicines
-water bill
-dining out.

All of that will make 10k for me.

Kakasimula lang ng Ber months at ang pasko ay nasa kabilang tabi na lang. 

Pag pasko pa naman at maraming mga bagay na mas mura binebenta ng mga mall at department stores. 

Alam ko nahuli ko na itong sasabihin pero magandang opurtunidad na makakuha ng mga GC sa Bench at SM ngayon.

Ano ang pinakamagandang kredit kard?

Ito ay base lang sa mga nakukuha na mga regalo at malilit na pabuya. Ito ay lilimitahan din natin sa mga classic  kards.

(Mawawalan ng saysay ang talaang ito kung hindi ka naman nagbabayad na kredit kard sa panahon na dapat mo itong bayaran. Mauubos lang ang pera mo sa mga idinadagdag nilang bayarin. )

Eto na ang listahan. Paumahin kung ako’y may nakaligtaan.

·         1800 credit card points=250 BDO reward points

·         1800*50=90,000=250 BDO points

·         250/90,000= 0.277%

Ang points na nakukuha mo sa paggamit ng credit card ay pwede mong ipapalit para maging BDO Rewards Points. Bakit mo naman ito gagawin? Dahil ito ang pinakamadaling paraan para maging pera ang credit card points mo.

Base sa aking kalkulasyon, kailangan mong umutang ng 90,000 sa credit card para maipapalit ito sa 250 BDO Reward point. Isipin mo na lang sa bawat 1000 na i-charge mo sa card ay 2.77 pesos lang ang nakukuha mo pabalik.

·         20,000 points=500 SM GC

·         20,000*20=400,000=500 SM GC

·         500/400,000=0.125%

Ibig sabihin sa bawat 1000 na i-charge mo sa card ay 1.25 pesos lang ang nakukuha mo pabalik.

·         6,720 points=500 SM GC

·         6,720*20=134,400=500 SM GC

·         500/134,400=0.372%

Sa bawat 1000 na i-charge mo sa card ay 3.72 pesos lang ang nakukuha mo pabalik.

Rebate Card

Kasama sa “non-essential spend” ang pagbili ng damit, pagkain sa restaurants, na hindi ko naman madalas ginagawa. At kung kagaya ko rin kayo na hindi rin gumagastos ng malaki sa mga bagay na yun, edi sa 0.5% na ang bagsak natin.

Sa bawat 1000 na i-charge mo sa card ay 5.00 pesos lang ang nakukuha mo pabalik.

A. Citibank Cashback Card

Ngunit para mo makuha ang 5% para sa grocery kailangan mong mag-charge ng total na 10,000 pesos sa meralco atpb.

Halimbawa.

 

B. Citibank Rewards Card

·         Ito ay nagbibigay ng 5% pag bumili ka sa mga piling establishimento. Ang nakita ko na magagamit ko lang ay sa National Bookstore at Powerbooks.

·         Nagbibigay ng 3% sa department store ng SM, Robinsosns, Landmark atpb.

·         Nagbibigay ng 100 peso na diskwento sa sinehan.

·         1 point=35 pesos

·         10,000 points=1,000 SM GC

·         10,000*35=350,000=1,000 SM GC

·         1,000/350,000=0.285%

Sa bawat 1000 na i-charge mo sa card ay 2.85 pesos lang ang nakukuha mo pabalik.

Kung ang titingnan lang natin ay ang rewards, masasabi ko na ang pinakamaganda ay ang Citibank. Malaki silang magbigay ng rewards.
